Jeannie Ianelli

Director

Jeannie Ianelli has been a KUMON mom since 1992 and a KUMON Instructor since 1995. Jeannie has achieved the status of "Gold Elite Kumon Instructor". She has been the #1 Gold Level Instructor in the Pacific Northwest for the past 5 years in a row.

Jeannie discovered the KUMON program as a mom desperately searching for a program that could help her then 4th grade son, who was struggling in math, to not only succeed, but to excel. KUMON made all the difference both in terms of her son's success in math and reading, but also in building his self-confidence and self-learning skills.

Jeannie is a committed Seattle Public School parent and uses her son, Jamie, as "proof" that the KUMON Method works. Jamie graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2001. He attended Loyola University, New Orleans, graduating in May, 2005, summa cum laude. Jamie then taught 7th grade math in a public school in the Bronx, NYC with Teach for America. He did his first year of law school at UCLA, making the Law Review and finishing in the top 3 of his class. He transfered to Harvard Law School and will graduate from there in 2010. His story would be markedly different if Jeannie hadn't found KUMON for him when she did.

Just recently, Jamie told his mom how lucky he was to have had KUMON in his life. In Teach for America, he worked with students who did not have even the most basic math and reading skills, and whose parents were not involved in their academic lives. Jamie understands what a gift KUMON was to him.

Jeannie passionately believes that all students can benefit from the KUMON program, just as her own children have. She is still a KUMON mom, and has been an Instructor for 15 years. Daughter Sara graduated from Loyola, New Orleans this past spring (part of the "Katrina class") and is now working as a public school teacher in Hawaii with Teach for America. Twins Peter & Tom have both completed the KUMON reading program and are working towards completing the math. They are juniors at Roosevelt, taking the AP calculus class this year.
Jeannie has confidence that all of her students can have similar success in school and life through KUMON study. She is proud to offer this program to the people in our area-Queen Anne, Capitol Hill, North Seattle, Wallingford, Magnolia and beyond.

Greta Olson

Lead Assistant

Greta Olson is truly the soul of our Center.

Greta and Robyn have been, and remain, best friends. They are yin and yang. Greta is efficient, detail-oriented, reliable, and dependable. Our Center simply could not operate without her. She and Robyn are perfect complements to each other, together offering the best customer service, high-level of professionalism, and great KUMON to our families.

Greta is the person our students see when they come to class each time. She organizes their work, changes out their homework, gives them their stickers, tells them if there is something they need to do at a particular class (such as take an Achievement Test, etc), and generally keeps the Center running smoothly.

Greta knows each and every student, and most of their parents. She is the calm and reliable soul of our Center.

Robyn Aldrich

Office Manager

When you call Kumon of Seattle, the person you talk to is Robyn. She is the heart of our Center.

Robyn graduated from UW in 2001, with a B.A. in Math. Robyn brings many skills to her job as Office Manager. She is the friendly voice who returns your phone calls, inviting you to orientations and explaining the tuition options. But Robyn also knows the KUMON curriculum inside and out, and with her math background, is able to explain how the program helps students improve and excel in school.

Robyn knows and loves each of our 550 students and their parents. She is truly the heart of our Center, and is an integral part of the successful team that brings KUMON to our community.
