Parents will sometimes ask when their kids will be at "grade level" in KUMON.
The "short answer" is there is no correlation between the KUMON curriculum and school math grade level. When Mr. Kumon created the Kumon Method 50 years ago in Japan, he did not look at the Seattle Public School math curriculum and try to dovetail with it. At KUMON of UVillage, we have great success guiding our students to work successfully in the higher levels and to completing the KUMON math and reading programs.
Most of our staff are students who are working in the higher levels or who have completed the program. There is a lot of support for students working in the highest levels of the KUMON curriculum in our KUMON Center.
While developing strong math and reading skills are important goals for our students, the ultimate achievement in Kumon study is Program Completion. Students complete the Math Program after Level O and the Reading Program after Level L.

To honor our students who complete the program, we have created the "KUMON Program Completion Scholarship" with a stipend of $250....
