Thank You!
As you can imagine, Jamie's graduation from Harvard Law School (cum laude!) is a dream-come-true for my husband and I. We are immensely proud and took advantage of all of the many festivities celebrating the graduates and their families at Harvard. My daughter flew in from Hawaii, and the 6 of us (my twin sons included) enjoyed being together. Jamie and Sara came back to Seattle with us for this past week to celebrate my birthday, golden birthday (55, born in 1955) bringing their respective sweethearts. Though the weather was typically "Seattle"-cold and rainy-we've had a wonderful week showing off our beautiful city, eating, hiking, cooking, eating, bike riding, eating, sightseeing, eating, catching up with old friends and mostly being together.
None of this would be possible for me if I didn't have such capable, supportive and professional staff. I rarely take time off from my job, but I was able to leave the center in very capable hands with Robyn, Greta and Jen. I did all of the planning for every student beforehand. Robyn called me when she had any questions or before making any adjustments to the lesson plans I had left. Jen and Greta made sure that there were enough assistants on hand and that all systems were running smoothly. I could never have had this magical experience with my family if it weren't for Robyn, Greta and Jen. I am so lucky to have them, and so grateful to them for taking such good care of my students and of me.
Jamie returns to Boston tomorrow morning to study for the bar exam in July. Sara leaves for Hawaii on Monday to begin preparing for her second year in Teach for America. We won't be all together as a family again until late December. These past two weeks have been priceless.
Thank you to my students and families for your patience and heartfelt congratulations during this time. I promise to be there for you in the not-so-distant future to help celebrate the achievements of your children! We have so much to be grateful for.
